The battery charger is extremely hot.

The heat from the battery charger while charging is normal

The heat generated from the battery charger varies depending on the battery capacity, the remaining amount of battery when charging, or the charging capability of a battery charger.

As a general rule: - Do not cover the battery charger - Do not put it in a confined area, nor put it near heat sources, or in direct sunlight. - Do not use the battery charger if room temperature is above 40 °C (104 °F).

To get the full list of precautions when handling the battery charger, please refer to Pepper’s Beginners guide and/or the safety guide on the NAO Documentation page.

If however, the charger generates heat abnormally while charging: - Check that the ventilator (if present) is not obstructed. - Unplug the battery charger from the Robot's base and the wall socket and let it cool down. - Try using another battery charger if you have one. If you experience a similar problem, the problem comes from the wall socket.

If the problem persists, please contact the Customer Care.
