NAOqi 2.1.4 for NAO available

October is just beginning and there are more than 4.000 of you registered to our Developer Program. Thanks a lot for that. We’re glad to see so much interest for our tools! We also noticed an increase in the activity of the forum. We’re happy to see more and more of you ask questions, but also answer other people’s questions.
 

Today, we’re pleased to announce the release of NAOqi 2.1.4 for NAO. All through summer, our teams have been working hard in order to provide you with this new version. We hope you’ll enjoy it.
 

To give you a quick overview of what you can expect, here are the two most important updates:

 

  • the Java SDK is now available and provides bindings to call remote services, create new services and react to events. We’ve been working for a long time with the Java community, and we’re really excited to see how you guys will take advantage of this SDK. Feel free to share your feedback on the forum.

  • Choregraphe and the dialog boxes now supports more languages: Arabic, Brazilian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, Greek, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish.

For NAO owners, this new version also fixes some issues including:

  • The Basic Channel that provides a set of applications to interact with NAO has been improved though a work on consistent dialog aimed at enhancing understanding.

  • Several issues impacting the NAO vision performances have been fixed. Customers working in autism project will appreciate the update of the recognition vision module, the most commonly used to interact with NAO by showing cards.

  • Some bugs regarding motion have also been fixed like:

    • The falls while stand-up from “crouch” posture,

    • The bug that prevented hands to close during shutdown has been fixed.

    • The battery notification "My battery is now fully charged" due to a not reliable energy level fluctuation is now fixed.
